Things that made me smile: Part Six

  • The daffodils growing outside of Hilton Garage
  • The sun on my face as I wander around the village with Forest whilst I should be working
  • The neighbour who is almost always having a cigarette in her front garden and waves to me whenever I leave the house
  • A car that drove past me with a black lab sticking his head out of the window with his tongue out
  • Watching Forest bound through the fields of the English Countryside on a beautiful sunny spring day
  • An old man sitting on a bench in the sun, smoking a cigarette and reading a book
  • The neighbour we don’t like has made a purchase. Mum’s response: “looks like the cock sucker has bought himself a new car”
  • Me: are you going to have dessert? Mum: obviously you fucking idiot
  • An old man in a trench coat and a beanie, carrying a tote bag. Outrageously cool vibes
  • Three young friends at Bear all trying each others coffees
  • Listening to my gym playlist and realising how extremely homosexual my music taste is
  • Whilst looking at cars at Hilton Garage, Carl looks through the window of a car and someone is sat in there and makes him jump
  • Driving through the Peak District. England is unbelievably beautiful
  • Two old women, must be 80+, in spoons at 3pm on a Saturday, each drinking a large baileys on ice
  • Six young lads, probably just turned 18, all crowded around the fruit machine in the pub, super excited to gamble
  • A middle aged couple grinning for a selfie by the beach
  • A group of four couples drinking wine, smoking and playing cards at the dinner table
  • A little girl playing Chess on her own in the restaurant we had dinner at
  • Watching our next door neighbours jump in the pool fully clothed
  • Two pigeons casually walking down the road together
  • Two women at the train station, at 10.30am, with plastic glasses of prosecco
  • Some bookshelves at Costa where you can take a book if you donate to charity
