25th March 2020

First of all, thank you to those who have read my blog so far, it’s nice to know I’m not just talking to myself. I’d like to give an even bigger thanks to those of you that have taken the time to give me your thoughts on my writing – it is an indescribable feeling knowing that people are genuinely enjoying the crap I churn out when I’m bored. I am enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would, mainly because it’s nice to just get my thoughts written down without having to over analyze every little aspect of them like I usually do. Hopefully this will inspire me, in the long term, to be less analytical of what I say and do in person, although I’m sure there are plenty of you hoping it has the exact opposite effect. We all know I’m not exactly renowned for biting my tongue.

I have a tumblr page for photography and looking through pictures on there has me utterly in awe of the talent some people possess. To clarify, I’m not a fourteen year old emo girl, it’s just that I find tumblr is the easiest site to use for things like this. I like to post my own pictures on my page because it’s something I enjoy doing but I would never for a second claim to be any sort of photographer. Some of these guys, on the other hand, are absolutely fantastic. There is something so simple yet so fascinating about looking at pictures of buildings, landmarks, sceneries etc. It’s relaxing and allows me a short escape from reality before I remember I’m from Hatton, one of the least aesthetically impressive places you could ever imagine. My page is https://427653.tumblr.com if any of you are interested.

I managed to complete my first bike ride in several years today, although it didn’t quite go according to plan. Sam met me at the top of the Hilton Straight (we kept two metres apart don’t worry) but I had to stop immediately as my tyre hadn’t been pumped up enough. By the time Sam realised this he’d already cycled off so I texted him to carry on without me, not that he’d have come back if I’d asked him to – I often think maybe the reason we’re such good friends is because we’re both selfish twats. Anyway, my darling mother brought the bike pump to me because I couldn’t be arsed to walk home to retrieve it and I was back on my way in no time. I managed a 4.75 mile ride, which is quite impressive if you ask me. As many of you may already know, I’m not in the best shape, but I persevered through the pain and it was very rewarding. There were few cars on the road but plenty of people out walking their dogs, jogging and cycling, which made for a rather pleasant and peaceful ride. If there is to be a slight upside to this terrible virus it just might be to get people active again, myself included.

On the other hand, as I sit down to write this, my legs feel like they’re about to drop off and I cannot stop yawning. I may have burned 300 calories and got a bit of fresh air, but at what cost? I jest, although I am physically shot to pieces. Thankfully, my sudden realisation of how unfit I am (yes it has been sudden shut up) has made me even more motivated to get back in shape. I was looking through old pictures and videos last night and seeing how thin & gorgeous I used to be left me feeling rather wistful. I try not to have regrets but allowing myself to put back on the weight I managed to lose in 2013/14 is right at the top of my list and, although I’ve said this hundreds of times, I will lose it again, even if it kills me. There needs to be at least one of us that can compete with Lewis’ ego.

By the time this lockdown is over I’ll have Chanel begging me to front their Autumn/Winter Campaign. Stay safe.
